Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team in the food manufacturing industry. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, ingredients, and packaging needed for production, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards and meeting delivery deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Procurement of Goods: Manage the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies to ensure production needs are met.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that high-quality materials are procured at competitive prices.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations. Work closely with production to forecast future needs.
- Purchase Orders: Create, track, and manage purchase orders. Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any delays or issues with suppliers.
- Cost Management: Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
- Quality Control: Work closely with quality control teams to ensure materials meet food safety and regulatory standards.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with all relevant food safety regulations and company policies.
- Reduce Dead Inventory:



Take proactive steps to minimize dead inventory by following department policy, requesting vendor refunds, and coordinating product returns to vendors.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate reports on purchases, pricing, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing or buying role, preferably in the food manufacturing or related industry.

Skills:

- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a team. Must be able to diplomatically, tactfully and professionally be persistent when representing the company to effectively deal with suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
