Matcon Demolition Ltd is one of the Lower Mainland's leading and most highly respected construction companies specializing in all Demolition & Deconstruction. Due to continued growth within our Demolition division, we are currently seeking experienced applicants for the Construction Labourer position. You will be part of a rapidly growing group with room to move up within the company.

Experience in Demolition is an asset, applicants must also have the ability to use small tools such as saws, hammers, drills, etc.

Labourer Requirements:

- Possess a positive “can do” attitude
- Able to perform manual labor (i.e. heavy lifting, removing drywall, chipping concrete, picking rebar etc.)
- Works in a safe manner. Understands and abides by the Matcon Health & Safety Plan
- Experience around Heavy Machinery
- Detail-oriented, valuable physical stamina, ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Be a team player
- Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods; handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.

Essential Job Functions

- Be able to recognize safety issues
- Ability to safely load and unload debris and waste onto and off trucks
- Dismantling scaffolding and temporary structures




- Establish exclusion zones around jobsites to ensure safety of by passers
- Signaling heavy equipment operators to ensure that heavy machinery and equipment are correctly positioned
- Stripping building structures of any valuable or reusable materials, such as pipes, radiators, and steel beams
- Removal of debris, rubble, and hazardous materials from jobsite

Further Information:

- Every Matcon employee is required to arrive for orientation clean shaven for a Respirator Fit Exam, if you are required to wear one beyond the orientation you must remain clean shaven, as a condition of employment.
