Inc. is a well-established and growing leader in the meat distribution industry, with over 35 years of experience serving both national grocery chains and independent retailers. Our finance team is collaborative and focused on continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to play a key leadership role within our finance team. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting qualified who enjoys managing day-to-day accounting operations while also driving process improvements and supporting the Controller with financial reporting, controls, and special projects.

The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, mentor junior team members, and help ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial information across the organization.

Reporting to the Controller, the duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting;

Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with internal policies and accounting standards;

Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities;

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting processes;





Prepare cash flow forecasts and assist with cash management;

Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard company assets;

Lead and mentor accounting team members;

Partner cross-functionally with logistics, sales, and senior leadership to provide relevant and reliable information for decision making;

Coordinate with external accountants and support year-end financial statement and tax processes;

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy; Provide backup and coverage across finance functions as required.

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business;

Minimum Four (4) years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manager or senior accountant role;

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting;

Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation including employment standards, statutory deductions, vacation pay, statutory holidays, termination pay and employee benefits;

Advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point);

Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV;

Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and oversee multiple responsibilities;
