Position #: 152335 Expected Start Date: August 18, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Community Services-101 15th Street East PA City/Town: Prince Albert Department: Addiction Services Community Clinics&Programs; Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: July 03, 2027 FTE: 1 Number of Hours per Rotation:224 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: Yes : As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, and under the general direction of the Addictions Counsellor - Degree (Alcohol & Addictions Services Worker), the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.
Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. /"Preference for this position will be given to HSAS membersin accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement/" Human Resources Exemption:
No Education - Chemical Dependency diploma Competencies - Crisis management skills Experience - Experience in a mental health and addictions program required Other Education & Training - Completed social sciences or human services discipline acceptable to employer Knowledge & Abilities - Ability to conduct individual and group counselling/educational programs
- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Ability to be versatile and adaptable to changing workload
