TITLE: Assistant Cook STATUS: 1.0 FTE Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Cook is responsible to the Head Cook to ensure a high standard of service delivery for the Food

Services Department. The position includes food preparation and handling, dining room and cleanliness of food services areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Journeyman cook preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of preparing meals for senior populations
- Considerable experience in group / institutional cooking

- Supervisory experience preferred
- WHMIS and First Aid training required

- Food Handling course required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Responsible for the preparation of food
- Assist in menu planning
- Assist dietary staff where required
- General organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room,



housekeeping and food storage areas

SHIFT INFORMATION Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part-time and Full time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)
