Risk & Finance Technology Consultant — Capital Markets | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid Toronto

Our client, one of Canada's largest banks, is looking for a senior technology consultant to lead a high-profile strategic assessment across their Capital Markets, Treasury, and Risk Management technology landscape.

You'll own an end-to-end technology assessment — current state analysis, future state design, gap identification, and architecture review — and your recommendations will directly shape enterprise roadmap decisions. You'll work alongside senior business and technology leaders across Capital Markets, Treasury, and Risk, with real influence over where the organization invests next, including how emerging technologies like Gen AI fit into the picture.

What we're looking for

- 15+ years in technology consulting or a closely related field, with a track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale technology assessments and landing actionable recommendations
- 10+ years of hands-on domain experience across risk management, treasury, and finance technology,



with a working understanding of the regulatory and operational realities of Capital Markets environments
- 5+ years working with QRM, Wolters Kluwer OneSumX, or Regnology platforms
- Robust experience with technology architecture evaluation and roadmap development
- Familiarity with Generative AI and its practical applications in financial services
- The ability to walk into a room of senior stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into clear business decisions
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, or a related field

A note on fit: this role needs a hands-on subject matter expert, not a program or project manager. If your experience is primarily overseeing delivery rather than doing the assessment and architecture work yourself, this likely isn't the right match. Details: 6-month contract with extension potential, 40 hrs/week, hybrid with one day per week onsite in downtown Toronto. Rate range $82–$102/hr depending on overall experience. Target start is ASAP.
