Summary

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team in Creston, BC. This vital role involves assisting individuals with activities, promoting their well-being, and supporting their independence within our caring community. Based in Creston, BC, you will be a key part of our mission to empower persons with diverse abilities.

Position Details

· Position Type: Casual

· Schedule: Casual on call Monday-Fridays

· Start Date: ASAP

· Wage: As per union contract - $25.95/hr

· Worksites: 921 Railway Blvd and/or various community sites in Creston, BC

Key Responsibilities – Community Support Worker

· Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities

· Arrange and participate in group activities

· Assist with community integration and participation in meaningful activities

· Develop and implement individualized programs

· Write and maintain log notes, goals and individual service plans





· Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging workplace

Qualifications

· Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (asset)

· Knowledge or experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s (asset)

· Ability to design and deliver individualized programs and implementing person-centered supports

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry in spreadsheets

· Valid B.C. driver’s license with clean abstract and proof of insurance

· Current First Aid/CPR certification (reimbursed by employer)

· Successful completion of a criminal record check (reimbursed by employer)

Additional Information

· Training will be arranged by the Executive Director and provided by the permanent staff

· This position requires union membership
