CEDA is currently seeking 3 highly experienced, self-motivated, responsible Hydrovac Driver/Operators to operate and maintain a variety of hydrovac equipment and various specialty tools. Locations for these positions will be required for various mining operations within Sudbury or areas north!

$30 - $37 per hour Benefits and pension start upon hire

Eligible for Overtime
Shift work will be required, typical shifts will be 7-7 AM or PM

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate proficiently hydrovac equipment, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
Complete minor maintenance and checks on hydrovac equipment
Proficient in driving manual transmissions
90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
Provide guidance to Labourers as required
Ensure safety for all team members and property
Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements
Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Valid class AZ or DZ licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
2-3+ years of directly related work experience operating hydrovacs is required
Must pass a CEDA’s Driver Assessment in a manual transmission (10, 13 and 18 speed)
Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)
Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
Experience and comfort with confined spaces
Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
