Become a key player in community finance research with CanAfro Research Institute. This volunteer role supports ACB communities through rigorous data analysis and evidence generation. We're looking for a Volunteer Research Assistant for an 8-12 week initiative focused on mixed-methods research.
You'll review financial records, engage with literature, and assist with interviews—all while contributing to equity and advocacy work for underrepresented populations. Your research will help illuminate structural patterns in Canada’s financial ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting publicly available financial records
- Support data classification and coding processes
- Review existing reports and literature for insights
- Coordinate and document anonymized interviews with stakeholders
- Translate research results into clear documentation Requirements:
- Detail-oriented and comfortable with spreadsheets
- Background in economics, public policy, or social sciences
- Proven ability to synthesize diverse information
- Solid writing skills; writing samples may be required
- Understanding of ACB community issues in Canada Your research efforts will meaningfully impact the financial landscape for ACB communities.
