Position: Compliance Officer
Location: Onsite position in Waterloo, ON
Employment Status: Full Time
Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000 /year
CareKWis in immediate need of an organized and dedicated Compliance Officer to join our staff. We are looking for candidates with experience in ensuring compliance with healthcare legislation, privacy laws, and professional standards.
This individual should have experience with writing corporate policies and have project management experience tomonitorand drive multiple objectives.They should have experience overseeing incident reporting and follow up investigations.The job requires exemplary attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate and lead multiple priorities.
The Compliance Officer playsan important rolein the CareKW team. They help oversee compliance requirements across the entire organization. If you have strong organizational skills and the ability to drive deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare legislation, privacy laws, and professional standards.
- Monitor documentation and charting practices.
- Oversee incident reporting and follow-up investigations.
- Ensure staffmaintainrequired certifications and mandatory education.
- Monitor infection prevention and control compliance.
- Support accreditation readiness.
- Review contracts, vendor relationships, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and patient safety committees.
- Conduct internal reviews related to billing, documentation, and regulatory standards.
- Identifyrisks and implementsappropriate actionsto mitigate them.
- Develop andmaintainscompliance information for analysis and reporting.
- Consult on new products,servicesand automated systems toassistwith incorporating compliance requirements into these initiatives.
- Analyze and report on compliancedatato gain insights on regulatory risk.
- Perform and/or effectively challenges monitoring and testing activities to ensure regulatory compliance controls areoperatingand aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Elevate high profile issues to management for prompt resolution.
- Develop andmaintaina high levelofexpertisein all regulations, directives and guidance which apply to the group(s) supported.
- Manage compliance timelines related to all business groups and regulatory bodies.
- Anticipate/identifyand analyze risk and consequences of unaddressed risk factors/compliancegaps and recommendappropriate controls.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Possessa valid work permit.
- Hold a validGdriver'slicense.
- Have abachelor'sdegree or equivalentexperience.
- Hold aPMPorother project management certificationor experience.
- Hold a HCCA certification or have aCertified Compliance & Ethics Professional designation
- Have aminimumof 5 years' experience in compliance or regulatory roles.
- Demonstratea data driven decision makingmindset.
- Showcasestrong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrateproficiencyusing computer software.
- Exhibitstrong leadership skills.
- Exemplifycommunication, organization, time management,collaborationand problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
