Company Description Long Beach Lodge Resort is a luxury adventure resort located on Cox Bay Beach, just south of Tofino on Vancouver Island, BC. Role Description The Cook is a full time, on-site role based at Long Beach Lodge Resort in Tofino, BC. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to resort standards, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event offerings, while maintaining consistent quality, presentation, and portion control. Day-to-day tasks include organizing station prep, following recipes and plating guidelines, coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house teams, and supporting smooth service during busy periods.

The Cook is expected to follow food safety and hygiene regulations,



maintain a clean and organized work area, and assist with inventory, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients. The role may also involve contributing ideas for seasonal menus, supporting banquet and catering functions, and helping train new team members as required.

Qualifications

Professional cooking skills, including experience in line cooking, food preparation, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and safe handling practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen.

Strong teamwork and communication abilities, including working effectively with chefs, cooks, and service staff during high-volume service.

Attention to detail in food quality, flavor, and presentation, with a focus on consistency and guest satisfaction.

Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and remain calm under pressure during busy shifts.

Previous experience in hotel, resort, or restaurant kitchens;

experience with coastal or West Coast cuisine is an asset.

Food Safe or equivalent food handling certification, or willingness to obtain it.

Willingness to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by resort operations.

Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Cox Bay Beach in Tofino, BC.
