We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Government Grants to oversee our organization's engagement with government funding programs and grants in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Canadian government funding landscape, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in grant acquisition, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Duties and responsibilities

Government Funding Strategy

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for acquiring government grants and funding in alignment with the organization's goals and projects.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, officials, and other relevant stakeholders at federal, provincial, and local levels.

Grant Acquisition

Identify, research, and evaluate potential government grant opportunities that align with the organization's projects and initiatives.

Lead the grant application process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions that meet all requirements and guidelines.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure that the organization remains in compliance with all grant agreements and reporting obligations.

Oversee the timely submission of required reports, financial statements, and documentation.

Collaboration

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and program managers, to ensure accurate budgeting, reporting, and compliance with grant terms.

Strategic Planning

Provide input into the organization's strategic planning process, contributing insights on potential funding sources and opportunities.

Budget Management

Work with the finance team to develop and manage budgets for projects funded by government grants.

Ensure proper allocation and utilization of funds according to grant guidelines.

Research and Trends

Stay updated on changes in government funding programs, policies,



and regulations that may impact the organization's grant acquisition efforts.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professionals responsible for grant acquisition, compliance, and reporting.

Preferred skills and abilities

Knowledge of accounting and finance practices; demonstrated ability to interpret financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.

Strong decision-making skills and ability to work with limited information.

Significant initiative and independence in carrying out project work in International Education industry knowledge is essential.

Proficiency in business writing and presentation.

Be organized and detail-oriented to effectively manage tight deadlines.

Ability to keep sensitive payroll and financial information confidential at all times.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in handling staff.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.

Minimum qualifications and experience

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience in government grant acquisition, management, and compliance in Canada.

Robust understanding of government funding programs at federal, provincial, and local levels.

Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with government officials and agencies.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for grant proposal and reporting purposes.

Strategic thinker with the ability to align government funding opportunities with organizational goals.

Strong analytical skills for evaluating grant opportunities, assessing risk, and financial management.

Leadership experience, including managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with strong project management skills to ensure compliance and timely submissions. Travel:

Some travel may be required for stakeholder engagement and meetings Pay:

CA$80,000.00 - CA$110,000.00 per year
