Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer role based in North York, ON.
The Electrical
Engineer will design and develop electrical systems and components for automotive applications, including power distribution and control systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing electrical schematics, performing calculations and simulations, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements. The role involves collaborating with mechanical and software teams, supporting prototype builds and testing, troubleshooting electrical issues, and contributing to product optimization and cost-effective solutions.
The Electrical
Engineer will also prepare technical documentation, support manufacturing, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with applied knowledge of Electricity principles and automotive electrical systems.
Proficiency in Electrical Design, including schematics, layouts, and component selection for vehicle applications.
Experience with Power Systems and Power Distribution, including load analysis, protection, and system integration.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; professional licensure or eligibility is an asset.
Familiarity with relevant automotive and electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Ability to use electrical design and simulation tools (e.g., CAD/ECAD software, circuit analysis tools) effectively.
Robust analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams on-site.
Experience in automotive or transportation industries is beneficial; exposure to embedded systems or controls is an advantage.
