InterRent REIT is seeking an Entry-Level Property Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at our 100 Main Street community in the heart of Downtown Hamilton. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on professional who takes pride in maintaining high standards, values exceptional customer service, and is passionate about creating a safe and welcoming living environment for our residents.

In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the property remains well-maintained, operationally efficient, and visually appealing. Your primary focus will be the upkeep of the exterior grounds, parking garage, and waste management systems, helping to preserve the overall quality of the community while supporting a positive resident experience every day.

Compensation $20 - $23/hour based on skills and experience.

Three weeks of paid vacation annually, starting on day 1 of employment. Additionally, all employees participate in our comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, dental, and prescription drug coverage for both employees and their dependents, with 100% of premiums covered by the employer. Responsibilities In addition to the duties typically expected of a maintenance professional, responsibilities will include: Regularly empty trash and recycling bins throughout the property.

Pressure wash and clean garbage chutes, waste bins, dumpsters, and building exterior surfaces as required. Perform snow & ice removal during the winter months, including the safe operation of a snow blower.



Ensure the proper disposal of garbage and debris from the properties.

Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the garage and storage areas. Assist other Property Maintenance Technicians with repairs to rental properties as needed, during occupancy and during the transition of residents from units (turnovers).

Complete work orders from residents, which can include a combination of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair work.

Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all health, safety and emergency procedures.

Qualifications Previous experience performing general labour or maintenance tasks. General understanding of residential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems are considered a strong asset.

Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions is required. Must be able to work in a team workplace as well as independently.

Additional Information

Must have own vehicle with a clean drivers abstract. Available and able to work on the rotational emergency on call schedule.

Evening and weekend hours required from time-to-time. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. Must be proficient using a computer and MS-Office.
