Our Whiteshell location is looking for an Environmental Specialist to oversee environmental compliance, support effluent and environmental monitoring programs, and collaborate with project teams. If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you! Apply today!

What you will be doing! Coordinating internal and external ISO audits and compliance evaluations. Developing and updating Environmental Aspect Assessment reports and Operational Control reports with facility managers and staff.

Delivering training to internal staff. Gathering and evaluating site radiological/non-radiological effluent monitoring results from various media. Promoting improvement, issuing letters or memos, reporting on performance, and writing summary reports as requested.

Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For Education A University degree (4 years) in Environmental Studies or related scientific disciplines (including Physics and Chemistry) OR Ten (10) years of equivalent post- educational experience in environmental management may be considered. Experience A very good understanding of environmental management principles is essential.

Familiarity with various environmental monitoring techniques would be an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Familiarity with federal, provincial and municipal regulations. Working knowledge of radiation protection principles an asset. Demonstrated robust organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Security Clearance Eligibility

Required

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand,



the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” Working Conditions We have a compressed work week: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week, starting at 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position is part of the WPEG Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the WPEG Collective Agreement.
