Kitchen Tailors is looking for an experienced, full-time Tile Setter to join our renovation team. We complete residential renovation projects throughout Vaughan and the GTA, including bathrooms, kitchens, main floors, laundry rooms, fireplaces and backsplashes.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean, precise work and can complete tile installations independently from preparation through finishing.

Responsibilities

- Install porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and mosaic tile
- Complete bathroom floors, shower walls, niches and tub surrounds
- Install tile on main floors, kitchen floors, backsplashes, fireplaces and feature walls
- Prepare surfaces using cement board, uncoupling membranes and waterproofing systems
- Complete shower waterproofing and proper sloping to drains
- Measure, lay out and plan tile installations to minimize small cuts
- Complete straight, diagonal, herringbone and other tile patterns
- Perform mitred tile edges and install tile trims
- Cut large-format tiles, including 24 x 48-inch porcelain
- Mix and apply mortar, grout and silicone
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Protect clients’ floors, cabinets and surrounding finishes
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades
- Identify site issues before beginning installation

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional tile-setting experience




- Experience with complete bathroom and main-floor tile installations
- Strong knowledge of waterproofing, surface preparation and layout
- Ability to complete work independently and meet project timelines
- Comfortable working with large-format porcelain tiles
- Ability to perform accurate cuts, mitres and detailed finishing
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to lift and carry tile, mortar and equipment
- Professional, punctual and respectful when working in clients’ homes
- Basic hand tools required

Experience with Schluter waterproofing systems, heated flooring and curbless showers is considered an asset.

Position Details

- Full time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays when required
- Residential renovation projects throughout Vaughan and the GTA
- Compensation: based on experience
