Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor Customer Service & Programs, performs services and public relations duties.

Major Responsibilites

Performs public relations functions such as conducting tours, providing information on memberships/programs, assisting with mail outs, and other services.

Monitors the change rooms, saunas, whirlpools, and track for suspicious behaviour, for users in need of assistance, and for general cleanliness and responds accordingly.

Performs cleaning and laundering duties as required.

Maintains lockers (stickers, removal of locks and cleaning).

Collects drop-in passes from participants to ensure controlled access to classes.

Checks all facility signage and bulletin boards and makes or recommends needed changes.

Maintains supplies, locks, display racks, towels, etc.

Participates and attends staff meetings.

Maintains a neat and organized laundry room and requests supplies in a timely manner.

Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Grade 9

An ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public

Some post-secondary education and/or experience in business, recreation, sports, fitness of public relations would be an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends

Must have or obtain within three months of employment, First Aid, CPR and WHMIS certification (courses available through employer)

Must obtain customer service training at first available opportunity

Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part-time (not to exceed 24 hours per week)
