E-File Coordinator / Finance Assistant
As an E-File Coordinator you will transmit completed tax returns to Canada Revenue Agencies, identify and correct E‑File errors, and retransmit the tax returns while ensuring all E‑File requirements are met prior to transmission. You will also download and print signed client documents and match them to the clients' files.
Working beside the Finance Associate, you will assist in invoicing clients electronically through QuickBooks Online, print payments received, match them to files, and collaborate in uploading, encrypting, and securing tax documents to be transmitted electronically to clients via Adobe Signatures.
This position requires an organized individual with strong customer‑service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle a quick‑paced environment. You must be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Previous customer‑service experience and a desire to learn, improve, and excel are assets.
Candidates must understand Canada's privacy laws, have a solid base of knowledge in the Canadian Income Tax Act, speak clear and fluent English, and be proficient with software such as Tax Cycle, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and more. Training will be provided.
Requirements
- Registration for My Account with CRA is required; students must provide their SIN and most recent Notice of Assessment before their first shift.
- Basic knowledge of the Canadian Tax System and the ability to identify various tax forms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with clients and team members.
Schedule and Hours
Selected candidates will work a variety of weekday, evening,
and Saturday shifts during February through April. Operating hours are Monday‑Friday 9:00 am–9:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am–6:00 pm. Shifts are typically 4 or 8 hours; the weekly schedule will average 35–40 hours. Additional hours and paid overtime may be available.
Pay Rate
Pay is $19.60–$20.80 per hour based on experience and availability. Overtime is $29.40–$31.20 per hour.
Training
The role includes a 3‑week training period in January with 4.5‑hour shifts, either 9:00 am–1:30 pm or 1:30 pm–6:00 pm. Training covers Tax Cycle, the Canadian income tax system, internal policies and procedures, and health and safety protocols (including COVID‑19 safety measures).
