Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and compassionate Floor Supervisor to join our childcare team. In this leadership role, you will support the daily operations of the centre by supervising educators, ensuring licensing compliance, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting high-quality care for children. You will work closely with the Centre Director to provide guidance to staff, support children's learning and development, and build positive relationships with families.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for early childhood education, and the ability to inspire and support a collaborative team.

Duties

- Supervise the daily operations of the childcare centre and ensure classrooms run smoothly.
- Support, mentor, and coach educators to maintain high-quality care and educational practices.
- Ensure compliance with provincial childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and centre policies.
- Monitor staff schedules, classroom ratios, and daily attendance to ensure proper coverage.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to educators.
- Assist with staff orientation, training, and professional development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members through open and respectful communication.
- Support curriculum planning and ensure learning experiences are developmentally appropriate and engaging.
- Respond to parent questions and concerns professionally and work toward positive resolutions.
- Assist with incident documentation, medication records, daily reports, and other administrative duties.
- Ensure classrooms, outdoor play areas, and learning materials are clean, organized, and safe.
- Support enrolment,



centre tours, and family engagement initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with the Centre Director to maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Valid ECE Licence in good standing (or qualification required by provincial regulations).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childcare licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and child development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Robust organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with documentation, staff scheduling, and administrative tasks is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced childcare environment.
- Bilingual skills are considered an asset.
