Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated General Labourer to join our weld shop team. This role involves supporting welders and fabricators with material preparation, shop organization, equipment assembly, and general production tasks. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

This position can be ideal for someone seeking full-time employment or a semi-retired individual looking for flexible part-time work. We require a minimum commitment of two days per week, with full time hours available based on experience and workload.

Duties

- Assist welders and fabricators with daily shop operations.
- Prepare materials for welding by measuring, cutting, grinding, deburring, and cleaning metal components.
- Load, unload, and move materials using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices.
- Drill holes, assemble lift equipment, and perform basic mechanical assembly as required.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment safely.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with packaging, shipping, and receiving materials and finished products.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any damaged or unsafe equipment.
- Support production and installation projects as needed.




- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or weld shop environment is an asset but not required.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring equipment.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Ability to read basic drawings and follow work instructions.
- Physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is considered an asset but is not required.
