Job Overview

We are seeking aseeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-oriented General Manager to lead the operations of one of our retirement residences in the Kitchener area.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of the residence, ensuring exceptional resident care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, employee engagement, and occupancy growth. This role is ideal for a agile leader who is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture while delivering an outstanding experience for residents and their families.

Duties

- Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the retirement residence.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
- Lead, coach, and support department managers and team members to achieve operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with the Retirement Homes Act (RHA), RHRA standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and all applicable legislation.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, labour costs, and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with the Community Relations Manager to develop and execute occupancy strategies that achieve and maintain census goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, hospitals, Ontario Health atHome,



and community partners.
- Oversee resident satisfaction, customer service initiatives, and continuous quality improvement programs.
- Support recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and staff development.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and employees.
- Collaborate with the Director of Care and leadership team to ensure exceptional clinical and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in a retirement residence, long-term care, healthcare, hospitality, or senior living environment.
- Demonstrated success managing operations, occupancy, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of the Retirement Homes Act (RHA), RHRA regulations, and applicable provincial legislation.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, community partners, and referral sources.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets and key performance indicators.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
