Start your journey as a Geotechnical Engineer in Training focused on safety and efficiency at CST Coal. This role emphasizes geotechnical hazard management in pit wall operations. Reporting to the Superintendent of Geotechnical Engineering, you will be responsible for regular inspections, slope monitoring, and geotechnical analysis.
Your role will also involve preparing monthly and quarterly reports for regulatory purposes and conducting geotechnical drilling campaigns. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute regular geotechnical field inspections
- Develop slope monitoring strategies and perform installations
- Conduct rock mass characterization and stability analyses
- Prepare regulatory inspection reports on a schedule
- Lead geotechnical drilling efforts for data collection Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geological or Mining Engineering
- Master’s degree preferred in related fields
- Relevant experience in open pit mining operations
- Familiarity with monitoring technologies is a plus
