The Group Sales & Ticket Service Intern plays a vital role in delivering unforgettable game day moments for fans of all ages. This position is perfect for a driven, people-focused individual with a passion for hockey, live entertainment, and community engagement. Working closely with the Coordinator, Group Sales & Ticket Service, the intern will help bring fan experiences to life, from anthem performances and intermission skates to promotional activations and special events.
This role offers hands on exposure to ticketing operations, sales strategy, and event execution, while building meaningful connections with local organizations and businesses. It’s a dynamic opportunity to be part of the excitement behind the scenes and contribute to the Sting’s mission of creating memorable experiences for every fan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure thorough execution of all group experiences (OHL Experience, Confident Kids Anthem Program, Timbits Intermission Skate, Chuck a Puck, Local Champs etc.) and more on game days • Assist in resolving any ticket-related issues while ensuring a positive experience for all fans.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns aimed at increasing ticket sales and enhancing fan engagement.
- Collaborate with multiple departments in the organization.
- Prospect and canvas local and national businesses/schools/organizations for ticketing opportunities.
- Participate in community events and outreach programs to promote ticket sales and build relationships with local organizations and businesses.
- Assist the Ticket Sales Department in all areas including service, fulfillment and execution of special events, packages, and game day responsibilities.
- Attend all home games for the duration of their internship.
- Perform other duties and opportunities as assigned to support the team’s ticket sales and operations efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS • Previous experience in the Sarnia Sting Game Day Intern Program or similar sports/event experience is strongly preferred but not required • Familiarity with current trends, especially in the sports and entertainment space.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, live-event environment with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays during Sting home games.
- Passion for hockey, customer service, and fan experience.
- Creative, dependable, and team-oriented with strong communication skills.
