About SuOn Academy

SuOn Academy is an Ontario Ministry of Education–inspected private high school serving Grades 9–12 (BSID#667183).

We are seeking a Summer camp Chemistry Contest Instructor to support these technology skill-building sessions.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum expectations;
- Teach high school Chemistry courses at various levels, as assigned;
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, quizzes, tests, and other learning activities;
- Explain concepts clearly and use a variety of teaching strategies to support different learning needs;
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment;
- Assess and evaluate student learning through assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and other forms of assessment;
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students regarding their academic progress;
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic performance;
- Provide additional academic support and clarification to students when needed;
- Communicate with students, parents/guardians, counsellors, and school administration regarding student progress and academic concerns when required;
- Support students in developing problem-solving, critical-thinking, analytical, and reasoning skills;
- Integrate appropriate technology and digital resources into chemistry instruction;
- Participate in department meetings,



professional development activities, and school events as required;
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and expectations;
- Perform other teaching-related duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Education, or a related field;
- Teaching experience at the secondary school level is preferred;
- Experience teaching the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum is an asset;
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is an asset;
- Solid knowledge of high school chemistry and curriculum expectations;
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills;
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds;
- Ability to create engaging and student-centred learning experiences;
- Strong commitment to student success and academic excellence.

Preferred Experience Experience teaching or supporting courses such as:
- Ontario secondary chemistry courses as required
- Waterloo chemistry contest

Working Environment The successful candidate will work in a diverse and multicultural school environment with students from Canada and around the world. The instructor is expected to demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to supporting international students in their academic and personal development. Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
