Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, making them feel comfortable and valued.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, ensuring menus, reservation books, and waiting lists are up-to-date.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests.
- Handle guest inquiries politely over the phone or in person, providing accurate information about wait times or restaurant policies.
- Assist in managing waiting lists during busy hours to ensure smooth flow of service.
- Support overall restaurant operations by maintaining a friendly attitude and ensuring guests feel welcomed throughout their visit.
Skills
- Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or restaurant settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Solid phone etiquette and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of POS systems is a plus for managing reservations or billing inquiries.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
- Familiarity with food service standards and customer service best practices.
