Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

- Develop creative interior décor concepts based on client needs, preferences, and budgets.

- Select furniture, lighting, fabrics, wall finishes, flooring, artwork, and decorative accessories.

- Prepare mood boards, color palettes, and décor presentations for client approval.

- Style residential, commercial, hospitality, and office spaces to enhance functionality and visual appeal.

- Recommend design solutions that maximize space utilization and aesthetics.

- Plan and coordinate interior decoration projects from concept to completion.

- Work closely with clients, contractors, artisans, and suppliers to ensure project success.

- Schedule site visits to monitor installation progress and ensure quality workmanship.

- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.

- Resolve design or installation issues promptly.

- Meet with clients to understand their style preferences and project requirements.

- Provide professional advice on décor trends, materials, finishes, and furnishings.





- Prepare quotations, proposals, and project budgets.

- Maintain solid relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.

- Source furniture, décor items, fabrics, lighting, and accessories from approved suppliers.

- Negotiate pricing and coordinate deliveries with vendors.

- Inspect purchased items to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.

- Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Prepare project plans, design specifications, and material schedules.

- Maintain accurate records of project costs, purchases, and client communications.

- Prepare project progress reports and final project documentation.

- Keep an updated portfolio of completed projects.

Requirements:

- Minimum of an OND in Interior Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.

- Proven years of experience in interior decoration or interior design.

- Strong portfolio showcasing completed interior decoration projects.

- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools is an added advantage.

- Excellent knowledge of color theory, space planning, furniture selection, and interior styling.

- Strong creativity, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
