Job Overview:

We’re looking for a self-motivated IT Systems Administrator to join our team.

Reporting to our IT Operations Manager, you’ll help maintain our technical infrastructure, support employee onboarding/offboarding, and work with low-code automation tools. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational systems knowledge who’s eager to learn and grow with us.

We value autonomy, and need someone who takes ownership, works independently, while keeping things running smoothly without needing constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

– Linux Server Management: Maintain Debian-based servers and VPS instances across multiple providers—keeping systems updated, secure, and monitored. Troubleshoot issues and perform backups/restores when needed.

– VoIP Administration: Manage 3CX PBX environments, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and handle emergency recovery.

– Network Security: Configure and maintain software firewalls and VPNs (WireGuard); perform regular system health checks.

– User Onboarding & Offboarding: Handle IT provisioning and deprovisioning within Microsoft 365 and internal platforms; setting up accounts, access, and equipment for new hires; revoking access for departing employees.

– Low-Code Automations: Build and maintain workflows using low-code/no-code automation tools (n8n or Activepieces) to streamline business processes.

– Light Development Work: Write or modify simple scripts (JavaScript, or Python) to automate tasks and integrate systems.

– Technical Support: Serve as an escalation point for the team when technical issues arise.

Qualifications (Required):





– Experience with Debian/Linux server administration

– Experience with VPS hosting, VPNs (WireGuard), and software firewalls

– Basic VoIP knowledge (3CX) or willingness to learn quickly

– Reliable internet connection, computer, and professional remote workspace

– Strong English communication skills

– Self-directed work style where you take initiative and follow through

Qualifications (Nice to Have):

– Experience with Docker

– Web development background (WordPress)

– Light programming skills (JavaScript, or Python)

– Microsoft 365 administration experience

Engagement Details:

– Role Type: Remote Independent Contractor

– Reports To: IT Operations Manager

– Hours: Part-time to Full-time candidate dependent

– Location: Remote (any time zone, though overlap with North American business hours preferred)

Work Location: Remote

Pay: CA$25.00 – CA$32.00 per hour
