We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IV Sedation Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team on a casual basis. Duties

- Administer intravenous sedation under physician supervision, ensuring precise dosing and monitoring patient responses
- Assess patient vital signs continuously before, during, and after sedation procedures to maintain stability and safety
- Prepare and set up sedation equipment, medications, and supplies in accordance with clinical protocols
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions or complications, responding swiftly with appropriate interventions
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records using systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Educate patients and their families about the sedation process, post-procedure care, and safety precautions




- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to deliver seamless patient care

Requirements

- Valid nursing license (RN) with current registration and licensure in Ontario
- ACLS certification
- Proven experience working in hospital settings, including acute care environments such as emergency rooms or surgical units
- Strong background in pain management, case management, and patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors, and individuals with dementia or assisted living needs
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, phlebotomy techniques, and laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
