The Labourer- Pipe Welding is responsible for producing high-quality work with zero defects and meeting work deadlines in a safe manner. This role entails material preparation, surface cleaning, equipment maintenance, and general support to pipe welders, ensuring a secure and organized workspace while facilitating the welding process.
Job Duties &
Responsibilities Assists in the preparation of materials required for pipe welding, such as grinding fittings and cutting pipe according to specifications.
Cleans and prepares the surfaces of pipes to be welded.
Assists in the movement and positioning of pipes and other materials to facilitate the welding process.
Helps to maintain and clean welding equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
Cleans up the work area after welding operations are completed to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
Provides general support to pipe welders during welding operations.
Cross-trains and performs the work of other job tasks as directed.
Job Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work with various hand tools, use Imperial measuring tape and operate an industrial powered fork truck.
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.

Primarily internal shop staff to exchange information. Effort (Physical & Sensory): Continuous standing (8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week) Regular walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, using fine motor skills; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Regular lifting and/or moving material (50 lb)
Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions: Be exposed to various environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, odours, noise and vibration (>80%)
Grinding tasks are notably dirty in nature.
Operate machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment (<50%)
Work at heights (<50%)
Wear safety devices, clothing or other safety procedures (e.g., harnesses, safety goggles, ear protection and steel-toed boots) (>80%)
