Role Description The Lead Scheduler is a contract, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for overseeing and coordinating schedules across projects, teams, and resources. In this role, the individual will develop, update, and optimize detailed timelines, ensuring that tasks, milestones, and deadlines are clearly defined and communicated. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering scheduling requirements from stakeholders, monitoring progress against plan, identifying potential conflicts or delays, and proposing adjustments to keep work on track.
The Lead
Scheduler will collaborate with project managers, team leads, and external partners to align schedules with project goals,
budget constraints, and resource availability. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, preparing regular schedule status reports, and supporting continuous improvement of scheduling processes and tools.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in scheduling, coordination, or project planning within a skilled environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency with scheduling or project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools) and solid general computer skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify risks or conflicts in timelines and propose practical solutions.
Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, and maintain reliability, professionalism, and confidentiality in client settings.
Relevant education or training in project management, business administration, or a related field;
certification in project management or scheduling is an asset.
Experience in industries that rely heavily on structured scheduling (such as construction, energy, or professional services) is beneficial.
