Lift Truck Driver / Shipping Checker Location: Mississauga, ON Job Type: Temp-to-Perm Compensation: $25.43/hour Schedule: Training on Days, followed by a 2-week rotating schedule (Days, Afternoons, Nights) Worklynx Recruitment Inc. is currently hiring a Lift Truck Driver / Shipping Checker for one of our clients located in Mississauga, Ontario. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Lift Truck Driver / Shipping Checker with a strong background in trailer loading and shipping operations. This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity with a well-established unionized manufacturing facility in Mississauga. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of loading experience, is safety-focused, and is comfortable working a rotating shift schedule after completing training on days. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load customer orders onto trailers using a forklift
- Verify order numbers, quantities, and products before loading
- Plan trailer loads for maximum space utilization
- Inspect products during loading to ensure quality standards are met
- Complete shipping paperwork, loading tallies, and related documentation
- Direct trailer positioning and coordinate trailer movements
- Unload incoming materials and supplies when needed
- Load scrap bales and assist with general shipping activities
- Perform daily forklift inspections
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area
- Follow all health and safety policies
- Assist with other warehouse and shipping duties as required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of forklift experience with trailer loading
- Valid forklift certification
- Proven shipping/loading experience
- Comfortable working a 2-week rotating shift schedule after day-shift training
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset Why Join?
