Mainframe Developer (6+ years) to develop and maintain customer risk assessment applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2- 41303 Our banking client is seeking a Mainframe Developer (6+ years) to develop and maintain customer risk assessment applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2-41303 Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto – 2 days/week – Monday, Wednesday Subject to change: 3–4 days onsite may be required based on business needs Contract Duration: 6 months (Strong possibility of extension – up to tenure) Schedule Hours: 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week Reason: Additional Workload Story Behind the Need Business group: GBME - Risk Technology - The role sits within GBME – Risk Technology, supporting customer risk assessment solutions for retail banking. The team consists of approximately 25 members, primarily engineers and developers.
Project: Need help for JU Mainframe KTLO and Projects - This position supports the development of a current initiative focused on customer collections and credit increase/decrease, specifically credit risk assessment. Ongoing projects – maintenance activities. Backe-end role. Working with HM, Director and another Developer – so a 5 member team including this CW.
Typical Day in Role
- Develop and maintain applications using COBOL,
JCL on mainframe systems - Perform unit testing of COBOL/DB2 modules - Support QA Testing (QAT) execution and defect resolution - Collaborate with team members to deliver enhancements and improvements Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills: 1. 3+ years of development experience in all these Mainframe technologies: Cobol, JCL, DB2 2. Hands-on experience with version control tools: Endevor (preferred) or similar tools (e.g. Control-M) Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience with scheduling tools such as CA7 - Financial industry experience is an asset - Experience with Jenkins, Github, Bitbucket is an additional advantage Education: Bachelors in technical field Best VS.
Average Candidate
