Financial Controls (Manager) is responsible for identifying and implementing internal controls for the Government financial information system with respect to the Chart of Accounts (COA) and other associated areas to ensure proper account and safeguarding of the Governments financial assets. The Manager is also responsible for detecting and preventing fraud and errors by managing the key accounting processes of bank and general ledger reconciliation for the
Government of Nunavut (GN) and administering key accounting tables within the
Oracle Fusion system as well as ensuring certain Federal filings and associated remittances are completed monthly. The Manager is accountable for acting constructively as a consultant and mentor to financial staff in all departments to assist them in controlling government expenditures,
but also to develop their accounting skills as part of a growing cadre of professional managers who contribute to government-wide credibility. The Government of Nunavut was selected as one of Canada’s Best Diversity

Department of Finance The Department of Finance (FIN) supports the Government of Nunavut by managing public finances and ensuring funds are used appropriately.
