Responsibilities
Identify, champion, and implement sheet metal, and Aluminum extrusion scrap deduction projects and initiatives
Track, dashboard, and report on progress of scrap saving initiatives
Liaise, coordinate, and communicate well with all individuals involved with manufacturing process including shop floor operators, supervisors, managers, and design engineers
Lead the specification, financial justification, and implementation of new machinery, automation solutions, and strategic-level process improvements
Coordinate and manage manufacturing support projects, including documentation updates, quality investigations, safety improvements and continuous improvement efforts
Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in Kaizen activities, topics including 5S, line balancing, waste reduction, and time studies
Maintain and optimize shop floor layouts using 2D CAD software
Assist maintenance and production teams with setting up preventative maintenance procedures
Maintain a high level of personal project management, ensuring documentation of all project decisions, communications, and technical information
Develop and maintain work cell, operations and routing information in ERP systems
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
Experience with and passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and driving change
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decisions.
Proficient in CAD software (2D and 3D) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with IFS or other ERP systems is an asset.
Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and delivering results.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Knowledge of, and experience with manufacturing equipment and processes considered an asset
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
