Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer About The Role We're looking for mechanical engineering experts to help train and improve cutting-edge AI models. Your technical knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex engineering problems — from fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to structural mechanics and FEA. This is a unique chance to apply your advanced engineering expertise in a new and impactful way, working alongside world-leading AI research teams from the comfort of your own home.

Organization: Alignerr

Type: Hourly Contract

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design Complex Engineering Problems — Create advanced, domain-specific challenges across areas like finite element analysis (FEA), heat transfer, kinematics, thermodynamics, and material science to rigorously test AI performance

Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that guide the AI's learning process

Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO)

Refine Model Thinking — Identify logical errors in AI reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions or energy conservation violations — and deliver structured feedback that improves how the model approaches engineering problems Who You Are Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field

Deep foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes

Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in written form

Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints

No prior AI experience required — if you know engineering, we'll handle the rest Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows

Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS

Experience reviewing or auditing technical documentation to engineering standards Why Join Us Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs and AI teams

Fully remote and flexible — set your own schedule and work at your own pace

Gain firsthand exposure to how advanced large language models (LLMs) are built and trained

Freelance autonomy with the support of a collaborative, global team

Potential for ongoing work and contract extension based on performance
