Position Overview The National Director of Communications leads TYC’s communications strategy and helps build a strong, consistent public presence for the organization. This role is responsible for managing national messaging, social media, branding, and internal communications while working with chapters across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage TYC’s national communications strategy.
- Oversee social media content, announcements, and campaigns.
- Maintain TYC’s branding and ensure consistent messaging across all chapters.
- Support provincial and local chapters with communications resources.
- Create promotional materials, newsletters, and public statements.
- Collaborate with the National Executive Team to promote TYC initiatives.
- Lead and support members of the Communications Department.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media, marketing, or public relations is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects.
- Solid organizational and leadership skills.
- Passion for youth leadership and community impact.
- Age 13- 27
Additional Information Approximately 4–8 hours per week , including team meetings and organizational initiatives.
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises:
Deputy Director of Communications, Communications team members, including content creators, designers, and communications volunteers.
