Position Overview The Nisga'a School District is seeking a Nisga'a Language and Culture Teacher to work with students at Nisga'a Elementary School. The role is carried out within a learning environment grounded in culture, community, and connection to the land and includes contributing to reconciliation through the teaching and learning of Nisga'a language, culture, and ways of knowing. The position is highly collaborative and delivered through a adaptable range of instructional models, including integrated classroom support, small‑group and individual instruction, and whole‑class programming, in partnership with classroom teachers and school staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with BC curriculum and learning standards




- Use assessment to inform instruction and support learner growth over time
- Create inclusive, protected, and engaging learning environments that support the wellbeing and success of all learners
- Build positive, respectful relationships with learners, families, and colleagues
- Engage in professional learning and cooperative practices to support effective teaching and learning

Required Qualifications

- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligibility)
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Experience delivering instruction in Nisga'a Language and Culture
- Knowledge of the BC Curriculum, including learning standards and core competencies
