Key Responsibilities The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: HAHP 1000- Introduction to Health systems. The course will be offered in the fall term, from September 1-December 30, 2026. This is an in-person course that involves lecture, experiential activities, discussion format. This course introduces students to the philosophical and practical scope of the School’s unique perspective on health and health systems. The historical foundations and current workings of the Canadian health system are explored. Students will gain a broad perspective on comparative health systems and the Canadian health system to build capacity in the field of health promotion. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. The course will be taught using Brightspace ( LMS - learning management system) and in-person on the Halifax Campus for the fall term . In addition, the part time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparation in advance of the term. The part-time academic may consider offering one to two office hours outside of class time per week. Qualifications/Requirements Of Position Graduate degree in Kinesiology, Health Promotion or Recreation and Leisure Studies with demonstrated teaching ability preferred.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE collective agreement Additional Information All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
