We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. In this role, you will collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide efficient pharmaceutical services while maintaining the highest standards of medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Preparation

Accurately prepare, package, label, and distribute medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Inventory Management

Maintain medication inventory, monitor stock levels, process pharmaceutical orders,



and ensure proper storage of medications.

Prescription Processing

Review medication orders for completeness, enter prescription information into pharmacy systems, and assist pharmacists with dispensing activities.

Quality and Safety

Support medication safety initiatives by following established procedures, maintaining accurate records, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Collaboration

Work closely with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery.

Regulatory Compliance

Maintain compliance with provincial pharmacy regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient confidentiality requirements.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

Minimum 3 to 5 years of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with demonstrated proficiency in medication preparation, inventory control, and pharmacy operations.

Education

Diploma in Pharmacy Technician from an accredited institution. Registration or eligibility for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Nova Scotia is preferred.

Technical Skills

Experience using hospital pharmacy management systems, electronic medical records, automated dispensing technology, and Microsoft Office applications.

Attention to Detail

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Communication Skills

Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Pay: $3,212.00-$3,500.00 per month
