The Successful Candidate Will

- Be responsible for the planning and program delivery of private, semi-private and group pickleball lessons, in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.
- Assist the Recreation Programmer with planning, directing, and overseeing day-to-day operations of club lessons, leagues, clinics and programs, and court bookings.
- Provide quality customer service to participants, parents/guardians, and the general public. Respond to program feedback, enquiries, and requests promptly.
- Communicate and document any concerns to the Recreation Programmer (health and safety, attendance, participants, equipment, inventory, facility spaces).
- Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
- Provides a leadership role for other coaches and instructors, including support for lesson plans and coaching strategies.

Job Requirements
- NCCP Instructor Level 2 certification required.
- Minimum 5 years experience teaching in a club environment, working with all ages and levels of play. Ability to run lessons, programs, clinics and leagues.




- Minimum 4.0 DUPR playing level.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with children, youth, and adults.
- An energetic and positive attitude with the ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, participants, parents/guardians of participants and staff.
- Strong leadership and customer service skills to interact with a diverse population of patrons, the general public, and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision. Excellent ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively, tactfully and courteously with all levels of staff, the general public and program participants.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple conflicting demands in a professional manner.
- Availability to work a adaptable schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Due to the nature of the contacts of this position, a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
- Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development and High Five Sport certifications required.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification or Safe Management certification an asset.

Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification. Disclaimer: Candidates whose Standard First Aid certification expires after June 22, 2026 must renew their certification through a WSIB-approved provider and obtain the new Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certification at candidates own cost.
