Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is currently accepting applications for Apprentice Pipefitters to join our growing team based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Shop and/or Site Supervisor(s), you will play an important role in supporting fabrication and construction activities in both our shop and field environments. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals currently enrolled in a Pipefitting Apprenticeship who are looking to continue developing their skills and build a career within the skilled trades.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Reporting fit for duty at the beginning of each shift
- Assisting with the installation, fabrication, and assembly of piping systems as directed
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and spool drawings to support fabrication and installation requirements
- Assisting with pipe fitting activities including measuring, cutting, threading, assembling, and installing piping components
- Assisting with bolt-up activities and learning proper use of torque equipment and bolting procedures
- Assisting with hydrostatic testing of piping systems and completing required documentation
- Operating pipe threading equipment, hand tools, and power tools as required
- Following RCESI’s Quality Control Program and Safety Program requirements
- Communicating effectively with coworkers and Supervisor(s) to ensure timely and quality work
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Performing other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will be:
- Currently registered in a Pipefitting Apprenticeship program or interested in registering (registration is considered an asset but is not mandatory)
- Safety conscious and committed to meeting all safety requirements
- Interested in developing skills related to piping, mechanical, structural, and fabrication activities
- Familiar with reading drawings and specifications, with experience interpreting spool drawings considered an asset
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the position, including lifting over 20lbs and demonstrating worksite mobility
- Hold or be willing to obtain prior to their start date, valid First Aid and H2S Alive certifications
- Willing to work overtime and weekends when required
- Willing to travel throughout Southern Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba
- Hold a valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
This is a safety-sensitive position. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test. In addition, audiometric and lung function testing will be scheduled by the Health & Safety Coordinator upon hire in accordance with applicable provincial regulations. Experience:
- pipefitter: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
