We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Poultry Operations Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, with opportunities to grow with the business.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for monitoring feed levels in barns and ordering feed, always ensuring feed quantities remain at an optimal level
- Communicate with feed mills and coordinate trucking schedules
- Coordinate barn repairs
- Order barn supplies
- Visit barns and communicate with barn staff
- Ensure OH&S; and animal welfare regulations are up to date and followed
- Assist in preparation for annual farm audits
- Support business growth opportunities

Requirements

- Experience within the agricultural industry is required
- Degree in animal sciences preferred
- Robust attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing time efficiently in a fast-paced environment

About Us: Merks Poultry is a family owned, local agricultural organization, that owns and operates over 25 barns in Nova Scotia and PEI. Mainly focusing on broiler production,



we also have broiler breeders, turkeys, and laying hens. Along with farming, we also have a fleet of transport trucks which transport goods across the Atlantic provinces, and a heavy duty mechanic shop to maintain our fleet.

Compensation:

Salary: $22-$32 (negotiable based on experience/education)

Hours: 40 hours per week – office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30

Location: On-site (no remote work possible) at our office at 2250 Gaspereau River Road, Avonport, Nova Scotia.
