POSITION SUMMARY

The Precision Ag Specialist is an experienced results-driven sales and technical professional responsible for cultivating the growth of the company's precision agriculture division through advanced consultation, strategic sales, technical expertise and the development of long-term customer relationships. Acting as a trusted advisor to growers, agribusinesses, and industry partners, this role develops customized precision agriculture solutions that improve productivity, profitability, and operational efficiency.

The Precision Ag Specialist serves as the organization's subject matter expert in precision agriculture technologies, providing advanced technical expertise in system design, implementation, integration and complex troubleshooting. This role provides technical guidance and support to customers and fellow Precision Ag team members, while promoting best practices across the department. Through practical expertise and a commitment to continuous learning, the Precision Ag Specialist also helps evaluate emerging technologies and strengthen Devolder Farms’ reputation as a trusted precision agriculture partner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow precision agriculture product and service offerings.
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers while maintaining and expanding existing accounts.
- Promote and sell precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance systems, variable rate application, data management platforms, and field mapping services.
- Conduct on-farm consultations to assess customer needs and recommend tailored solutions.
- Demonstrate products and services, including equipment and software, to customers.
- Interpret agronomic and operational data to provide insights and recommendations that drive customer success.
- Provide system and new equipment start ups, health checks, calibrations, software updates and performance optimization.
- Provide advanced technical in-field support to existing customers for precision ag systems critical farming operations (i.e., during planting and other peak agriculture periods).
- Provide ongoing support to ensure customers maximize the value of their technology investments.
- Serve as a key resource for complex precision agriculture system design, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance to fellow Precision Ag team members while promoting departmental best practices.
- Evaluate emerging precision agriculture technologies and provide recommendations regarding new products, services, and technical solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, contracts, invoicing and other related documentation to customers with a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with agronomy, equipment, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Deliver advanced customer and internal technical training on precision agriculture software, equipment, and data management platforms.
- Educate customers on best practices, emerging technologies, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving precision agriculture technologies, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline opportunities.
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer appreciation events, field demonstrations, product training sessions, equipment demonstrations, educational seminars,



and industry conferences.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, agronomists, crop consultants, and industry organizations to support customer success and departmental expertise.
- Identify and implement practical improvements to departmental processes, customer experience, and technical service delivery that enhance operational efficiency and customer success.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Participate in compulsory training as deemed necessary for the role.
- Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a customer focused mindset.
- Build and maintain a trusted advisor status within the agricultural sector.
- Extensive knowledge of precision agriculture technologies and digital farming systems.
- Advanced understanding precision agriculture software platforms with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, GPS guidance, RTK correction systems, autosteer, implement guidance, machine automation, variable rate application, prescription mapping, yield monitoring, telemetry, machine connectivity, farm data management, display and equipment challenges, translating technical data into practical, value driven and solution based recommendations.
- Strong understanding of modern crop production practices and farming operations.
- Knowledge of agricultural equipment systems, ISOBUS communications, and equipment integration.
- Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting agronomic, operational, and equipment data.
- Knowledge of networking, wireless communications, cloud-based systems, and mobile technology as they relate to precision agriculture.
- Demonstrated ability to support service and sales staff and communicate complex technical concepts in a practical, customer-focused manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Precision Agriculture, Ag Business, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in precision agriculture, agricultural technology, agronomy, agricultural equipment, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting precision agriculture technologies in production agriculture.




- Proven success developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships while consistently achieving sales objectives.
- Advanced experience with precision agriculture software platforms, machine guidance systems, telemetry, variable rate technologies, GIS mapping, and farm management information systems.
- Strong understanding of agricultural equipment systems and electronic machine controls.
- Demonstrated experience providing advanced technical training, knowledge-sharing with team members, and supporting customer adoption of precision agriculture technologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and industry-specific software applications.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Frequent travel to farms, customer locations, equipment dealerships, and industry events.
- Combination of office, field, and outdoor work environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, uneven terrain, and agricultural environments.
- Seasonal workload fluctuations aligned with planting, spraying, and harvest operations.
- Extended hours, evenings, weekends, and on-call support may be required during peak agricultural seasons.
- Occasional lifting of equipment and technology components.
- CSA-approved Grade 1 protective footwear required in designated work areas.
