Role Description

This is a temporary position supporting a plant shutdown/turnaround. The Pressure Vessel Inspector will perform in-service inspections of pressure vessels and related equipment, review inspection records, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include planning and executing inspection activities, preparing detailed inspection reports, recommending repair or replacement actions,



and supporting risk-based inspection and asset integrity programs. The inspector will collaborate closely with reliability engineers, maintenance teams, and facility operators, and will participate in procedure reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. This role also supports Vertix clients in optimizing inspection intervals, enhancing safety performance, and reducing unplanned equipment failures.

Qualifications

- API 510 certification (Pressure Vessel Inspector) with solid knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, CSA, local regulations)
- Experience in pressure vessel inspection, condition assessment, and integrity evaluation within oil and gas and/or chemical processing facilities
- Background in reliability engineering, asset integrity, or maintenance engineering, including familiarity with risk-based inspection and lifecycle planning
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports, interpret drawings and P&IDs;, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to identifying risks and recommending corrective actions
- Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency with common inspection tools and techniques; experience with inspection data management systems is an asset
- Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical qualified conduct
- Valid European Union passport required
