We are seeking an experienced Principal Patient Safety Manager who will lead strategic patient safety initiatives across the organization.

You will serve as a trusted advisor, driving hospital-wide improvements while mentoring a team of patient safety professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Safety Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide patient safety strategies, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.

Clinical Risk Management: Lead investigations of significant safety events, identify systemic risks, and oversee corrective and preventive action plans.

Quality Improvement: Drive hospital-wide initiatives focused on reducing patient harm, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare quality standards.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to accreditation requirements, provincial healthcare regulations, and patient safety best practices.

Data Analytics:



Monitor patient safety indicators, analyze trends, prepare executive-level reports, and recommend data-driven improvements.

Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, pharmacy, infection prevention, and operational departments to implement sustainable safety improvements.

Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor patient safety specialists and quality professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

Education and Training: Lead hospital-wide patient safety education programs and promote awareness of safety initiatives across all departments.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in patient safety, healthcare quality, clinical risk management, or hospital operations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership or strategic management role within an acute care hospital or large healthcare organization.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare discipline. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.

Certifications: Professional certifications in patient safety, healthcare quality, risk management, or healthcare accreditation are considered a strong asset.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of patient safety frameworks, quality improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, healthcare accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex organizational initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, manage cross-functional teams, and drive measurable improvements in patient safety.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration.

Pay: $99,657.00-$143,834.00 per year
