Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop accurate project estimates based on detailed scope analysis and technical drawings.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare comprehensive bids that reflect current market prices and project requirements.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from construction drawings, ensuring all materials, labor, and equipment costs are accurately captured.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate project schedules, track progress, and communicate updates effectively across teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Assist in the review of contracts, change orders, and project documentation to mitigate risks and optimize profitability.
- Support project management activities by maintaining detailed records of estimates, bids, and procurement processes.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital markup and document management.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction estimating principles combined with hands-on construction experience.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for transparent collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
