Under general supervision and direction, the technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload.
Duties include: processing, interpretation and reporting results for Microbiology specimens as per established policies and procedures. 1.
Current
Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Successful completion of an accredited MLT program
- Recent experience in Microbiology required within last 5 years; to include proficiency in reading Gram stained smears, recognition of colonial morphology, identification of pathogens and reporting of susceptibility testing results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of bio-safety principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem- solving skills
