Our distinguished and long-standing client is seeking a Research Grant Administrator to join their team in Halifax for a six-month term. This role requires hands-on reconciliation experience and a robust understanding of financial administration in a regulated funding environment.

Key Responsbilities for the Job:

- Monitor grant accounts on a daily basis and provide guidance to principal investigators, administrators, and support staff
- Interpret and apply institutional policies, funding agency regulations, and partner agreements
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with contracts and funding requirements
- Provide support for payment of goods and services and interpretation of financial reports
- Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with external restrictions and availability of funds
- Prepare financial statements and invoices related to research grants
- Compile financial information and analysis as requested by senior leadership

Experience & Attributes for Success:

- Post secondary education in accounting, finance, bookkeeping; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
- Background in grant administration, research accounting, or similar financial roles preferred
- Experience with financial reconciliation and account monitoring
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and apply financial policies and funding regulations
- Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills
