Our company is currently seeking an experienced safety and compliance assistant.

The safety and compliance assistant will be responsible for executing and overseeing the daily operations such as:

Responsibilities:

- Drivers' training/orientation in classroom and field.
- Manage and maintain all driver’s qualification files. Ensuring all documents are up to date.
- Overseeing the maintenance of all the trucks and trailers as per company PM
- Ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and US laws and DOT regulations. Updating company policies in accordance with new DOT / MTO Regulations as needed
- Driver Recruitment and Retention
- Accident Investigation, Prevention and Review
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Enforce company policies with Drivers.
- Monitor and review ELD compliance and accuracy.
- Detect and correct any driver related ELD issues.




- Manage and supervise all trucks and trailers have all related documents, authorities, permits, and plates updated in document binder.
- Manage and keep track of all PM, Inspection & Repair status of equipment.
- Monitor and enforce Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Manage and monitor Accidents, related claims, disputing violations & tickets.
- Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections.
- Prepare paperwork for NY and IFTA tax filing.

Requirements and Skills:

- Strong computer skills. Excel, Microsoft
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work with all levels including drivers and upper management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
