MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who is available to work (Monday to Friday from 11:00pm to 7:30am) and has the following skills and experience:
Responsibilities:
- Receive and enter sample information into our computer systems.
- Prepare samples for testing including separation, drying, crushing, and splitting in accordance with our standard operating procedures and policies.
- Perform QC checks and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Weighing and data entry of samples to ensure accuracy and volume monitoring.
- Use crushing and other equipment to process samples.
- Utilize the existing computerized system to manage stock.
- Some lifting is required, up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
Requirements:
- Sound numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work effectively either as an individual or member of a team and relate effectively with staff on all levels.
- Proven ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a transparent and concise manner.
- Ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and identify and deal with problems.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Word & Excel
- High School education is a pre-requisite.
- Previous experience in mining companies preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to interact with different cultures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Previous experience with the use of a pallet jack is an asset
- Some physical lifting, up to 50 pounds, is required.
